Physical violence against women in schools in the state of Ceará

Abstract

Objective: To describe the frequency of physical violence against women occurring in the school environment in the State of Ceará, through the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN). Methods: ecological, cross-sectional and retrospective research with a quantitative approach carried out at SINAN between 2017 and 2021, obtaining data relating to Ceará. Results: 7,044 notifications of physical violence against women in school environments were found for the years selected for the research. It was found that according to the age group, the variables of violence notifications increase according to the precocity of age 10 to 14 years 2,028 in women aged 15 to 19 years. In the analysis, numbers continue to decrease with age of majority. Conclusion: The results showed that there was a greater prevalence of physical violence at school in the younger female population.
