Lesões de pele causadas por dispositivos médicos em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal

Abstract

Skin lesions caused by medical devices in newborns are a daily challenge, and the aim is to understand the factors that trigger the development of skin lesions and implement care strategies. The objective of this study is to analyze and describe the prevalence of skin lesions caused by medical devices in newborns admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of a private hospital in the western region of the state of Paraná. This is a quantitative, retrospective, cross-sectional, descriptive study. The sample will consist of medical records of patients admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit who have reported skin lesions associated with medical devices, from January 2023 to June 2025. In this study, data collection is characterized by documentary collection, using a collection form developed by the authors. After collection, the data will be tabulated in Microsoft Excel 2013 and subjected to descriptive analysis, subsequently presented in tables. The results of this study will provide information on the importance of prevention and treatment strategies and to improve clinical outcomes in this vulnerable population
