Design Management as a Strategy for Organizational Sustainability in the Circular Economy
Abstract
This article aims to analyze the strategic contributions of Design Management to organizational sustainability, based on a conceptual articulation between Design, the transition toward production models grounded in the circular economy, and management practices. The research is characterized as a qualitative, theoretical-analytical study, grounded in a literature review and critical analysis of academic publications, regulatory documents, and institutional reports related to sustainability, Design, and productive systems. As a result, the study presents an analytical synthesis that highlights the role of Design as a strategic and integrative element, capable of supporting process reorganization, the development of more sustainable products and services, and the consolidation of business models aligned with the principles of the circular economy. It is concluded that Design Management provides relevant contributions to strengthening organizational sustainability and fostering the development of more responsible corporate practices.
