Potencial de Extratos Vegetais e Fitoconstituintes em Alopecia, Dermatite Seborreica e Embranquecimento Precoce dos Fios: Uma Revisão Integrativa
Abstract
Hair and scalp disorders, such as alopecia, seborrheic dermatitis, and premature hair graying, can have a negative impact on health, appearance, and social interaction. Plant extracts and their phytoconstituents offer promising therapeutic alternatives due to their antioxidant, antimicrobial, and cells signaling pathway modulating properties overcoming the limitations of conventional treatments. This study aimed to identify and analyze the effects of plant extracts and phytoconstituents in the treatment of the mentioned disorders, highlighting mechanisms of action and experimental models employed. A systematic search of Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed database (2020–2025) identified 82 records, of which 48 met the inclusion criteria. These studies included in silico, in vitro, in vivo, and clinical trials using exclusively natural compounds. The findings demonstrate the safe and effective therapeutic potential of different plant-based ingredients, which represent relevant alternatives to conventional drugs.
