Abstract

Cervical cancer is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) and shows a higher incidence among young women, as it is a sexually transmitted infection. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of educational interventions for cervical cancer prevention, focusing on improving knowledge, adherence to HPV vaccination, and uptake of screening tests. An integrative literature review was conducted using the databases Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), and PubMed (National Library of Medicine). The interventions analyzed included telephone reminders, narrative videos, online programs, self-sampling kits, and educational materials. The results showed positive effects on adherence to vaccination and cervical screening, as well as increased knowledge about the disease, its risk factors, and preventive strategies. Socioeconomic factors and barriers to accessing healthcare services were identified as obstacles to the effectiveness of these actions. It is concluded that well-structured educational strategies can significantly contribute to reducing the incidence and complications associated with cervical cancer.
