Estudo Descritivo sobre o Perfil Epidemiológico da Violência Interpessoal no Brasil (2015 – 2024)
Abstract
Interpersonal violence constitutes a public health problem, encompassing biopsychosocial dimensions. This study aimed to describe the epidemiological profile of interpersonal violence in Brazil between 2015 and 2024, considering sociodemographic and territorial variables. This is a quantitative, descriptive epidemiological study, conducted using publicly available secondary data from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN), made available by the Ministry of Health's Interpersonal Violence Panel. The results indicated a predominance of notifications among women, especially in the 20-39 age group, reflecting gender inequalities and vulnerabilities in affective-conjugal relationships. A higher concentration of cases was observed in the mixed-race population, highlighting the centrality of racial markers and structural racism in the production of violence. The territorial distribution showed a higher absolute number of cases in the Southeast and Northeast regions. It is concluded that interpersonal violence is a phenomenon structured by social, gender, and racial inequalities, making it essential to strengthen intersectoral policies for prevention, protection, and care, especially in Primary Health Care and the Social Protection Network.
